Remembering Everest Day 2021

Last year, the Nepali community in New Zealand is partnering with the Embassy of Nepal, Canberra and the Himalayan Trust  celebrated Everest Day 2021 to commemorate the historical day of the First Ascent of Everest, and to celebrate the legacy of Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa.
The friendship between Aotearoa New Zealand and Nepal was forged at the roof of the world 68 years ago on 29 May 1953. Since then our two countries and our people share a special bond and unique connection.
